Membangun Kompetensi Penelitian Global: Kolaborasi ITEKES Muhammadiyah Kalbar dan UNIMAS dalam Sesi Global Learning tentang Populasi dan Sampling
A virtual Global Learning session on "Population and Sampling in Research" brought together ITEKES Muhammadiyah West Kalimantan and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). Led by UNIMAS lecturer Dr. Chen Ai Ling, the academic collaboration enhanced research methodology skills among nursing and health administration students from both institutions.
An academic collaboration aimed at enhancing research proficiency took place on October 8, 2025, through a Global Learning session between ITEKES Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Barat (Kalbar) and the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The scholarly event, held virtually, focused on the crucial research methodology topic: Population and Sampling in Research. The session featured Ms. Chen Ai Ling, Ph.D., a distinguished lecturer from UNIMAS, who delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation. Her expertise provided students with a deeper understanding of theoretical and practical considerations when defining target populations and employing appropriate sampling techniques in academic inquiry.
The primary participants were students currently undertaking the Research Methodology course across various programs at ITEKES Muhammadiyah Kalbar, including those from the Bachelor of Nursing (S1 Ilmu Keperawatan), Master of Nursing (S2 Keperawatan), and Health Administration study programs. This diverse participation underscored the interdisciplinary nature of research and its universal application in health sciences. This valuable collaborative activity was jointly initiated by the International Relationship Officers (IRO) of ITEKES Muhammadiyah Kalbar and its Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing, and Health Administration Study Programs. The partnership reflects a commitment to global education, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices between Indonesian and Malaysian higher education institutions.
The Global Learning session successfully provided participants with essential knowledge for conducting scientifically rigorous and ethically sound research, thereby contributing to the development of competent and globally-aware health researchers.
